Tayler Hale is ahead of her time as one of the first women naturalists. She has always loved adventure and the great outdoors, and her remote job location also helps keep her away from the clutches of the man to whom she once made a foolish promise. It seems she must keep running, however, and in secret, her boss from Yellowstone arranges for a new job . . . in Alaska.

The popular Curry Hotel continues to thrive in 1929 as more visitors come to Alaska and venture into the massive national park surrounding Denali. Recent graduate Thomas Smith has returned to the hotel and the people he considers family. But when a woman naturalist comes to fill the open position and he must work with her, everything becomes complicated.

The summer brings unexpected guests and trouble to Curry. With his reputation at stake, will Thomas be able to protect Tayler from the danger that follows?

heart gripping conclusion!

In this final installation, we get to enjoy seeing some exciting new adventures for a young woman named Taylor and what comes of some of those we have wondered about from the beginning of the series. I love novels set in Alaska even though I have never been there nor studied about the state or people. I wonder if it is the various wildlife that is there or the vast spaces where no one lives. Whatever draws me to stories like this, I am grateful authors write them! Taylor is a young woman in the early 1900s who was thought to travel a certain path of expectations from both family and society. However, Taylor is a woman who longs to travel, study, grow in her faith and be free to experience the great outdoors. While working in Yellowstone Park, she loses her father and her mother charts a dangerous course that is against what her husband desired. Those who pay the price are Taylor and her brother Joshua, but there is hope that their mother will soften her heart and heal from the loss of her husband. Taylor meets Thomas who works at the Curry Hotel and what ensues is friendship and the rollercoaster ride all relationships travel, especially at the beginning. Readers who have read the other books in the series, In the Shadow of Denali and Out of the Ashes, will once again be entertained through the actions and at times antics of characters we have come to enjoy. The series draws readers into a fictional world based on some facts from history and that makes it all the more fun to read! Each book could be read as a standalone. However, the characters grow, and some new ones are introduced in book two that all come together in this final installment. If you haven’t read the books yet, please do so as they are filled with a reflection of history, faith, romance and adventure. Then, maybe share them with family or friends when you’re done so they can enjoy them as well!

What a finale!!!

Tracie Peterson & Kimberley Woodhouse have written another outstanding story. The third book in The Heart of Alaska trilogy was perfect!!! This novel could be a stand alone, as lots of back story was given. If the first two books have been read, you are immersed with the characters you know & love. The way these ladies draw you into the lives of the characters, you feel you are right there at the base on Denali. The themes of redemtion and forgiveness are woven through the story over and over. Something everyone needs. I loved the way they brought in Scripture, hymns and sermons; naturally and smoothly. Three romances, too. Great job, ladies. Another winner.

Three men find love in the Alaskan wilderness.

Enjoyed being back in Curry again. Thomas and Tayler story was really sweet. Collette and Matthew story was kind of quick. So happy that Margaret found love again with Daniel. All of these couples had trust issues to get through. But with God and their love that grew All came out well.Looking forward to reading more by these authors.

Excellent

This book was not predictable and kept my interest throughout. I was sad that this was the final book in the series, but it was very well done. This book would appeal to readers who like adventure and romance in a Christ-like atmosphere. A story of forgiveness and God’s love.

Loved each page

I love entering history and imaging everything that took place around that era I love that people of the past and today deal with many of the same things. It is most wonderful the love of the Lord

I loved this last book in the series

Tayler and Thomas had a wonderful story. It was full of drama, suspense, lies and deception, and truth. And of course love. I enjoyed reading about characters from previous books in the series.
