Lots of great colors!
I have always used regular 6-strand embroidery floss, but I tried perle cotton in a folk-art embroidery class and I am not going back to 6-strand floss! I looked at perle cotton at a couple of different stores, and this seems to be a really good price. This "sampler" pack is a good product for my needs because I use a lot of different colors--but not much of each at any one time. I imagine that some people would prefer fewer colors and bigger spools--but this is perfect for the kind of sewing I do. I have already used it for several different projects, and it sews very well.

I purchased this set of thread for wool appliqué and hand embroidered. I usually use DMC floss but I like how this thread stayed tightly wound together when stitched. The size 8 perle cotton is equivalent to 3 strands of floss. It has a nice sheen and does not drag through the fabric. There is a nice variety of colors. I wish it came in variegated colors.
